They Meet…Twice!

Mom and Dad have actually known each other since elementary school when they were about 11 years old!  Their moms were friends but they went to different schools.  Mom was initially only friends with Dad’s sisters (because boys were gross) but in junior high, the two families didn’t see much of each other anymore.

Mom changed school districts right after junior high school, which landed both of them in the same high school.  They developed mutual friends and realized that they had the same birthday.

Months later, Mom and Dad realized they knew each other from childhood.  They were friends through high school and even went to prom together.  But, they didn’t start dating until after graduation, 18 years ago.  Mom and Dad went to different colleges (UF and FSU) as a long distance relationship and didn’t live together in the same city until after they were married ten year ago.

Pregnancy

Mom reports that the sweetest thing about the pregnancy was how attentive big sister (Farah) was to her soon-to-be born baby brother.  Many times when Mom would come home, Farah excitedly welcomed home… baby brother (and ignored mom)!  She would constantly talk to her baby brother and play games with Anton.

It’s a Boy

Mom and Dad decided to have a gender reveal party, but to find out the results right before the festivities.   They planned the activities for the party themselves but they wanted to have a little fun with the family.   So, they actually had a few fakeouts before the final announcement.

1) They played a dart game first that was supposed to reveal the gender; but after the last balloon was popped, no answer.

2) They told everyone “just kidding, lets to cut the cake.” They dramatically and slowly cut the cake and then showed everyone the result… (no color!!)  At this point, some of the guests jokingly said they were leaving.

3) Finally, they had colored confetti that everyone opened at the same time to reveal the blue confetti!

Nursery Theme

“We found out we were expecting while we were on vacation in Vancouver and Oregon.  Because of this, we chose the theme of the Pacific Northwest (nature, mountains, ocean, lakes etc).  We love to travel as a family and have lots of adventures.  We look forward to the day we can travel back to this region so Anton can begin to form his own memories of such an exciting time for us.”

Anton Arrives

Mom taught a group fitness class the day before Anton was born.  It was a special 25th anniversary celebration of the program of LesMills BODYATTACK.  Luckily this was the final push she needed and went into labor the next evening.  It was a quick delivery and Anton was born just 2 hours after they got to the hospital.
