Expecting

Mommy had a whole plan for how she wanted to tell Dad that she was expecting. She was too excited though and all of her sweet planning went out the window! Dad was at a business dinner when she found out she was expecting, so Mommy called him right away and told him to go to the bathroom and call her back. She just couldn’t wait to tell him! So, Dad found out they were becoming a family of three while whispering in the bathroom of a restaurant while Mommy was crying on the other end of the phone (from excitement).

It’s a Boy

The best part of expecting was all of those sweet kicks and movements. The worst part of the pregnancy was just the general discomfort all of the time. Mommy couldn’t wait to find out if their sweet bundle was a boy or a girl. She was so excited when they heard the news! Daddy was lying on the floor in the bathroom trying not to pass out because he has awful White Coat Syndrome! Once they left he doctor’s office, they were both able to enjoy their exciting news and couldn’t wait to share “It’s a Boy” with everyone!

Preparations

Once they knew it was a boy, the names came down to Luke or Noah. Dad liked Luke better so, this is Luke! Once they knew it was a boy, it was baby prep time! Dad likes to laugh about how Mommy pretty much nested the entire pregnancy. Baby prep was done in November (three months early!).

Luke Arrives

Mom says that Daddy did awesome during labor and delivery, especially considering his White Coat Syndrome. Labor was long and Mommy was a champion. After pushing for FOUR HOURS, Luke arrived and looked just like his Daddy. Mom says everyone came out with battle scars, but it was worth every minute!

How’re the first few days going?

It’s been a roller coaster of emotions. Luke is such a good baby, so it’s been awesome to just take in this new role of Mommy and Daddy.
