Meghan Vail Photography » Fine Art Newborn and Infant Photography

I consider it one of the biggest honors when another photographer asks me to shoot their newborn session.  I am so excited that Rose has a baby girl and loved getting to capture these images for her.  I’ve decided to let her tell you about her family in this blog.

The Meet Cute

We have been together for almost 9 years. We met at a hurricane party. Our mutual friends had been trying to set us up for a few months, but our paths never crossed until the party at his best friend’s house.

Did you find out the gender?

I wanted to wait until the big day.  Dad couldn’t handle the anxiety. I had blood work done for genetic testing and the gender chromosomes were detected. When the nurse called and said the genetic testing came back normal, she asked if I wanted to know the sex. I said yes, then no, then yes. She told me I could pick up a copy of the report at the office in a sealed envelope. I caved on the phone and told her to just tell me. 🙂 My reaction was “are you sure?”. She said it’s 99% accurate. In disbelief, I still set aside a baby boy outfit for my hospital bag……

Her Name

Lucy Otilia was the original plan, but we made it short and sweet to Lucy Lia.

Jim’s mom is Lucy Elaine and his grandmother is Lucy Geneva. Otilia is my mom’s and my great grandmother’s name.

What have the first few days been like?

a complete circus!
1 baby feels like 1
2 feels like 20
3 feels like 300
but I would do it again in a heartbeat! 🙂
