We’ve had the honor of photographing this growing family for a couple years now. Knox is such a perfect addition and fits like a puzzle piece. Big sister was just over a year and a half at this session but did wonderful and is going to be an amazing big sister, watching over her little brother.
The pregnancy was a surprise. Mom wasn’t feeling well, so decided to buy a pregnancy test on a whim, while at Walgreens getting big sister’s passport pictures done. When she went home and the test showed positive for pregnant, she immediately called Dad on the phone and told him that she was pregnant. They were both completely surprised since big sister was less than a year old, at the time. They now say it’s been such a blessing and they couldn’t be happier with it.
The most surprising thing about being pregnant was the pregnancy itself. Big sister did great though and would kiss and rub Mom’s belly while saying “baby”. Of course, with a little one already at home, the worst part of the pregnancy was the complete and utter exhaustion. Mom and Dad had already been surprised by the pregnancy, so they decided to go ahead and find out the gender; they just couldn’t wait! They were thrilled to find out they were having a boy. Mom had wanted a girl and Dad had wanted a boy, so they both have their wish and couldn’t be happier with their little family. Dad was also thrilled to have some gender balance at home and relieved he wouldn’t be outnumbered three to one.
Mom and Dad didn’t know until the baby was born what the first name was going to be. They liked a few different names, but nothing really stuck. They wanted something short but strong and something that sounded good when was said together with Georgia. Georgia & Knox <3
Since Knox is the second baby, Mom and Dad felt more relaxed and prepared. Also, because they had Knox seventeen months after having big sister, most of the things needed for the baby were already set. They are still working on the nursery, but they knew from big sister that he wouldn’t be sleeping in his own room right away.
Mom gave us a beautiful quote, when we asked her what her first thoughts were when she saw Knox. “I didn’t think I could have enough love for more than one baby, but once I saw Knox and got to hold him in my arms, I understood that a mother’s love is so great and how she is able to equally provide infinite love for each child.”
