I was so excited to photograph Evan. I have known Evan’s Dad since high school and am so happy for their growing little family!
One morning Mom decided to take a pregnancy test. Sure enough it was positive and she ran out of the bathroom to show Dad. He was completely caught off guard since he was in the middle of working and if anyone knows Grant, he is always working! They were both in shock, but very excited!
Those 40 weeks…
The best thing about being pregnant was feeling him move! Mom felt the first kick around 19 weeks and Dad was also able to feel it. The most annoying thing about being pregnant was the morning sickness for about 16 weeks. Dad was great at making ginger tea every morning to help! The most surprising thing Mom found out about being pregnant was that she actually enjoyed it even with the swollen feet and weight gain!
Mom and Dad were not so good at baby prep in a timely manner. They were in the process of having the house painted and walls repaired during the beginning of the third trimester. Then they decided to rip out the carpet in the nursery and install floors. Of course, they wanted to save money and Dad decided he would do the flooring himself. A few hours into the install, Mom went to check on Dad and he was laying on the floor with only a few rows completed saying how much he hated installing the floors. They gave in and hired professionals who completed the job quickly.
The baby shower was only two weeks before Evan arrived, so the last few weeks were crazy trying to put together the furniture and setting up the room in-between work and doctors visits! Mom would advise others to start early and don’t wait for the last minute for house repairs!
