How They Met
Robert and I have known each other our whole lives. We grew up together and were raised as family. We always had an attraction to each other but didnt want to ruin the family bond. But then 5 years ago we decided to give it a try and have been together ever since. We have been married for 3 years come this October.
It’s a Boy!
Mom called Dad at work after taking four pregnancy tests. She called him again three months later to tell him it was a boy! They had tried everything under the sun to have a boy. All of the Old Wives’ Tales, science, and pseudo science (foods, vitamins, positions, ovulation tracking). They were so excited to find out they would give their daughter a little brother. Dad likes to say that they worked hard for this little boy!
They knew from the beginning that his middle name would be Richard, after Mom’s father who passed away. They tried to pick something that would work with “Richard” while trying to find a name isn’t too popular and is somewhat original. Among the contenders were Jace, Trace, Easton, and Silas, but Emmett won out.
Dad was amazing!!! Mom woke up that morning with contractions and didn’t realize what they were because they were so mild. She sent Dad to work and was going to get some tylenol on the way to work for the pain. Within the hour the contractions were coming full force and she had to start packing the hospital bags in between contractions!! By the time they got to labor and delivery, it was less than 30 minutes of pushing and their little guy arrived!!! Dad was amazing, kept Mom calm and held her hand (and leg!) through it all!!
Now that he’s here…
Mom says she had no idea what he would look like. According to her, he looks the same as Dad did as a baby, but with her hair color and skin tone. I love the awesome fuzzy head of hair!
Emmett had two rough colicky nights early on but since then this little man has been an absolute dream. He is such a good baby and big sister is thrilled with her new job!
