How they met
Mom and Dad met through match.com while living in Chicago, which makes this our third online matchmaking baby, since we started counting! They’ve been together for six years now. Before they met, Mom and Dad were actually going to the same church and were part of the same medical missions. Somehow they never met. They figured out that they sat on opposite sides of a big church so their paths never crossed! Match.com must have known that fate needed a little help!
Preparing for Abigail
The toughest part of pregnancy was all of the restrictions Mom was on. They started baby preparations early because doctors said the baby may come early. Mom and Dad felt like things weren’t finished, even after lots of prep work. The car seat wasn’t installed, so Winnie Palmer helped with that.
Mom had to have an emergency C-section because Abigail was breach. Dad was so nervous that his hands were cold all throughout the surgery, but everything went smoothly.
Welcoming Abigail to the Family
Mom says she knew she was having a girl because she had a dream about it, but this was officially confirmed with a blood test. Abigail Grace was the only name they decided on, so there was never a question about what they would call their little girl. Abigail is a Hebrew name that means Joy of the Father. Fittingly, Mom says when Abigail arrived, Mom and Dad both cried. Mom says they were “overwhelmed with joy and grateful everything went well and that she’s healthy.”
Everyone is happy to be out of the hospital and Mom and Dad are excited to catch up on some sleep. I’m assuming this means Miss Abigail is behaving herself and letting them get some rest!
